Word of the Day | Feed the goose

In Aesop's fable "The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs," a man in the fable gets rich because his goose lays a golden egg every day.

However, the man becomes impatient and greedy and decides to kill the goose to get all the golden eggs at once. Unfortunately, when he kills the goose, he finds no eggs inside and loses his source of wealth entirely.

Moral of the story… "Feeding the goose" can be seen as a way to take care of something that brings you benefits. Had the man continued to care for the goose, the goose would most likely have kept provided him with a golden egg every day.
